Opened in 1931, the Imperial Hotel is not only one of Asia’s greatest hotels but also the witness to the birth of the capital city of New Delhi. Its marvelous mélange of victorian, colonial and art deco styles stands out even after more than 7 decades and offers each guests the magic experience of capturing a piece of history. The spacious, high ceiling guest rooms, massive crystal chandeliers, sparkling marble floors, huge glossy mahogany tables, hotel personnel dressed in regal Indian garb not to mention the vast original 18th and 19th century art collection that adorns the corridors of the hotel are all a constant reminder of the elegance of the coloum. Probably the only authentic ballroom remaining in India with a spring floor that reduces noise levels, the Royal Ballroom evokes the splendor of Lords and Ladies bowing and courtesying, before they swirled across the floor to the strains of waltz. This is where the distinguished guests amused themselves when the Hotel was opened in 1931 and this is the room where the first grand Ball was held in the presence of Lord Willingdon. The pre-function areas of the Royal Ballroom proudly house life size oil portraits of royalty of seven different princely states. The vast ballroom today, serves as a venue for conferences and events of repute, seating up to 400 guests, auditorium style. Imperial Hotel has 263 lavishly furnished rooms and luxury suites, equipped with al modern facilities like direct dialing, personal computer with Internet connectivity, channel music and television with all channels. All rooms here are smoking Rooms. They are centrally air-conditioned with electronic door lock, individual safe, Iron & Iron Board, Tea / Coffee maker, Mini bar, Multi - channel Music, Dual Data port for Internet, Direct dial telephones, Weighing scale, Free morning Newspaper, Sewing kit, Wake up facility and interactive Television with remote control. The hotel is divided into four wings and has 263 beautifully appointed rooms and suites.

Special Imperial and Heritage Rooms: These special heritage rooms have typical colonial marks on everything from furniture to their high-ceilings and paintings on the walls. The interiors of these rooms have been designed with great imagination and artistic sense. One special characteristic of these rooms is that all of them are facing the sprawling beautiful garden of the hotel. They have been provided with all the modern facilities.
 
Lutyen's Suite: Lutyen's suite has all the special stamp of Sir Edwin Lutyen, including his grand design of 'The Universe', which adorns the floor of this suite. The guests can enjoy all the comforts and luxuries, which are required for elite class tourists.
 
Royal Imperial Suite: The Royal Suite has been created with great care and imagination to render special stamp of royalty on its décor and design. It is luxuriously furnished in classic oriental style. It is even fitted with Sir Lutyen's own writing desk, side table and desk chair. The original paintings by Prince Soltikosf hang on the pleasantly coloured walls. The suite has an attached private lobby and terrace. In these suites guests are provided all the royal comforts and luxuries.
